I am guessing Lawrence thinks a Surrey badge will help England selection (bit like a NSW one in Australia) though it appears his time may have come and gone with Brook shooting past him.

Lawrence hasn't kicked on and Essex have a few other younger batsmen who look the business so no huge loss. He'll have to up his game to pay regularly for Surrey but the extra money will come in handy for him I'm sure. There must be a problem with Foakes, as he has been ditched pretty quickly after every chance he's been given. Perhaps he not very popular with team mates.

Had a great afternoon with my missus Aussies relatives that are over... her Unc (Arsenal) and cousin (WHU) are massive sport fans ... including their cricket .... they are adamant they will lose this summer... the Stokes effect ... same way a crocked Botham would turn up and still do the psychoigical effect over them... actually for convicts were decent HUMBLE people... unlike the resident unhumble cunt on here...

A better team than 2019 (Carey for Paine, an actual all-rounder in Green) so with England confident we will see all the doomsayers about Test cricket put in their place. No one cares who wins t20 REALLY so it can fuck off into its place as hit and giggle 'entertainment' & make way for proper cricket.

Given that Leach is the only calm in a team that goes hell for leather, the replacement has to be Dawson.
The reason Leach is the only ever present bowler in every Test under Stokes so far is he offers control whilst the fast bowlers attack. Dawson is the safest bet to do that job. And he can bat as well, one positive over Leach.
Moeen can fuck off.

Interesting where England turn (pun intended) for spinner for the series.
Moeen doesn't seem at all interested in playing tests any more, similar for Rashid.
Ahmed seems to be ear marked as one for the future, is throwing him in as lead spinner too much at this point in his development.
Which then leaves a few unconvincing back ups... Dom Bess, Liam Dawson, Mason Crane, Will Jacks. None will have the Aussies quaking in their boots.
